All it says on the website for Kingsport is that they go by the "national building code 1999 edition." That is a book. I don't want to buy a book. I just want to know a few codes. For example: what type of partitions do you need between an attached garage and living space? What are the minimum insulation values for new construction in attics, walls, etc.? General stuff like that is waht I need to know. Can anyone help me?

you have to go to your county inspections dept.
they can help you and you might have to have a permit
anyway for that type of buiding. they include all the codes
with your permit. if you are not going to build right away they will still give you the plans.
