hillsborough co., fl. realtor as property manager promised house to be clean upon move-in. 18 days to work with and nothing got done. bathrooms atrocious, mildew abound, broken fixtures, missing grout. 17 days after move-in still no resolve. what is the health codes they (landlord) must follow?

good luck with this! we are going through the exact same thing, except we have rats.
after checking the law on line, i believe you have to send the landlord a certified letter starting the problems seven days before the rent is due.
if they do not do anything, you can take him to court.
we actually did not know you had to send the letter before the rent was do until after the fact.
we have not paid the rent and gave them a 30 day notice that we intend on moving. we told them to just keep the security and they already have last months rent.
unfortunately, they agreed to let us out of the lease, and now it seems they want to play hard ball and just sent us a three day notice to move which starts the eviction process.
one thing we did do though, we called and filed a complaint with code enforcement as well as the health department.
so, like i said, good luck with it.....it's a headache!
